Our construction material testing laboratory has been in operations since 1967.  Nowadays, it is the largest construction quality assurance laboratory in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Our main laboratory is located in Trujillo Alto (South east, San Juan, PR metro Area).  We also have  a field office at Aguadilla (South West Puerto Rico).  Depending on the project size we may be able to set up field offices equipped with testing equipment anywhere in the Caribbean.  Our company has over thirty (30) laboratory technicians, two (2) engineers and a manager dedicated solely to our testing laboratories.  All of our technicians have been trained as American Concrete Institute (ACI) technicians, grade I.

The following list shows some, not all, of our routine construction laboratory tests**:

Concrete

• Compression Strength Test on cured concrete cylinder samples
• Securing and testing Concrete Core specimens
• Bending strength test on cured concrete beam specimens
• Strength tests on grout samples (grout cubes, sample boxes or cylinders)

Steel       

• Tensile strength test on steel Reinforcement for concrete (Rebars all sizes)
• Bending resistance of concrete steel reinforcement
• Tensile strength tests on strips from structural steel members
• Tensile strength tests on cables, ducts, pipes among other
• Welding Coupons

Asphalt

• Marshall test
• Bituminous material extraction
• Plastic flow resistance
• Distribution of aggregates or mix proportions
• Asphalt layer thickness by coring method

Masonry

• Compression strength tests on concrete blocks, bricks or masonry units
• Bending resistance of masonry units
• Other tests adapted within our load test frame to verify structural resistance requirements

Others

• Calibrations on Load Cells, hydraulic jacks and manometers
• Load test frame adapted to perform tests on any material (i.e. rubber, carbon fiber, plastics...)
